Chapter 99: Broken Wheel

Chapter 99: Broken Wheel

<You’ve defeated Linda, not only physically but also mentally. You’ve gained the right to extract the essence of life from her body. You’ve shown your enemy the might and horror of the Challenger! You’ve fulfilled the hidden condition to unlock the first fragment of the seal of the stealer>

<Seal of Stealer forefinger Fragment: One of the five parts of an item that one can use to forcefully change their destiny>

<The item is stored in the subspace>

Elliot felt curious about it, but he wouldn’t know what kind of power it provides until he collects the other four fragments. The thing was, he didn’t know anything about the conditions he needed to fulfill to get them.

Since it was useless to him right now, he kicked all thoughts related to it to the back of his head before saying the keywords to extract a harmful amount of life force from Linda, but not enough for her to rapidly age and gain wrinkles and white hair.

<You’ve gained 150 units of the essence of life>

Elliot nodded with a partially satisfied look on his face before he converted the enchantment on his hand back into the essence of life. The golden glow and the hexagonal tattoos on his hand vanished, turning into wisps of energy that seeped inside his palm.

<You’ve converted the enchantment of protection and energy manipulation into 450 units of the essence of life>

“So, where were we?” He turned to look at his surroundings with a look of wonderment on his face.

“You actually hit her?” Many beta males were surprised to see that Elliot slapped a beautiful woman hard on the face, and they couldn’t help but look at him in disbelief.

Elliot looked at them, then retorted, “Never seen a man that believes in equivalence between men and women, huh?”

The beta males looked away in defeat as they didn’t want to get on his nerves.

Elliot turned towards Linda’s friends, looking at them with unfriendly eyes before saying, “Do I need to give you guys an invitation for you to move your asses off this stage?”

“Why us?” One of Linda’s friends asked in a shocked voice.

“Just because you’re her friends,” Elliot said, clearly telling them that he is going after them because they were friendly with Linda.

They cursed Linda in her mind before one of them said, “We have nothing to do with her, I promise! We don’t even think of someone like her as our friend. So, can you please not force us off?”

Elliot shook his head in disappointment after hearing her words.

“Looks like you guys are donkeys who can’t understand human speech,” Elliot said as large waves of golden energy burst out of his body, permeating the surroundings as they charged above his head before twirling around each other and taking the form of a gigantic hand whose shadow shaded Linda’s friend.

The eyes of Linda’s friend twitched when they felt how weak they were in front of this overpowering magician in the magical realm.

“What kinda superpower does this demon even possess?!”

“Damn! It would be bad if he drops that on us.”

“It will crush us to death!”

“Are you going or not?” Elliot asked with an amiable smile on his face.

Put up a fight with him? They knew that they would not win, that he would crush them mercilessly.

“We will go! We will go, right away!”

Linda’s friend hurriedly turned around to leave the arena, but they only took a few steps before Elliot stopped them for some reason.

“Wait!” Elliot said out loud, and they stopped in their steps.

They turned to fearfully look at him, worried that he has changed his mind and is going to hurt them, and one of them asked, “Mister Demon, What is it?”

“Demon?” Elliot’s eyebrows raised as he said that words.

The terrified and tear-stricken rabbit hurriedly corrected herself, “No! No! I meant to say, Great Magician, how can I help you?”

Elliot felt pretty satisfied with her response, so he decided to not trouble them anymore.

“Take this broken wheel with you,” he said while motioning then to carry Hurley out of the arena.

“Broken wheel?” Hurley puked out a mouthful of blood at his words, feeling humiliated at being compared to a broken-down wheel. Then, he luckily lost his consciousness. Otherwise, he would have died out of anger.

Linda’s friend picked up Hurley and went away, doing as Elliot told them to do, and soon five more people were disqualified from the arena.

“Now then, with the bugs out of the way, let’s start the real tournament.”

As if his words were the declaration of war, the participants in the arena started fighting each other. Most of them were hunting down the ones that weren’t in a group. While a few went around Elliot and his group as the gigantic fist he created by using 500 units of the essence of life was still above his head and acting as a great source of threat to them.

The King’s aid, Eliseo, and Marshall didn’t brawl it out with each other either. Instead of targeting Elliot and his friends, they were eliminating the weaker groups and reducing the number of participants.

“Everyone’s too afraid to fight us,” John said, feeling lucky since he had automatically qualified for a spot in the top fifty without needing to move a single finger.

“To be correct, they are afraid of the fist hovering above us.” Theo said while gaping at the gigantic fist in the air, then he looked towards the creator of the fist before saying, “Elliot, your superpower is too ridiculous!”

Elliot laughed it off before he looked at the battle going on in the surrounding area of the arena.

“Looks like we won’t need to do anything,” he said with his hands behind his head, whistling without a care as the superpowers of the participants created exploded on his right.

At the same time, different kinds of weapons stabbed the ground on his left, the heavy, rocky punch of a second-year student shattered the arena in front of him, and the clanking noise of weapons clashing against weapons sounded from behind.
