Apocalypse: The Hotel She Runs Is the Only Paradise

Chapter 60: Help, Ghost Killing

Chapter 60

Was this brat just humoring him? She definitely was!

Damn it, this girl was clearly human, but ordinary humans would be pissing themselves in terror at the sight of him. Even high-level players would avoid him like the plague. How dare she be so brazen in his presence!

"Are you trying to get yourself killed?" The Black-Clothed Ghost's voice suddenly turned bone-chillingly terrifying.

Gu Wanyin pursed her lips.

It was scary, but she knew she wasn't in any real danger, so it was no different from watching a horror movie.

Seeing that Gu Wanyin still had no reaction, the Black-Clothed Ghost grew even angrier. He wanted to reveal his full ghostly form, but just as he was about to exert his power, he found he couldn't do it! He couldn't reveal his ghostly appearance!

What was going on?

Not giving up, the Black-Clothed Ghost reached out to grab Gu Wanyin, but as soon as he raised his hand, his entire ghostly form froze in place!

What the hell? This was so bizarre.

It was so strange that even he, a ghost, found it eerie!

"Customer, don't waste your energy. Are you going to buy something or not?" Gu Wanyin asked.

The Black-Clothed Ghost gritted his teeth and roared, "Buy your sister!"

Then he turned and ran.

The moment he ran out of the supermarket, he breathed a sigh of relief.

He had thought he wouldn't be able to move at all! Luckily, he managed to escape.

Looking back at the supermarket one more time, the Black-Clothed Ghost's face turned red with anger.

He, the Black-Clothed Ghost, had never suffered such humiliation before!

Just wait... He would go call for backup now. No, not people—he'd call for ghosts to come seek revenge!

Inside the supermarket, Gu Wanyin rolled her eyes dramatically.

If you're not buying, just say so. Why insult people?

So annoying. Black-Clothed Ghost? More like Annoying Ghost.

A little while later, two young women came in.

These two were clearly human.

They looked completely normal, and when they entered, they were cautious and peered around carefully. They stared at Gu Wanyin for a good while before approaching and asking, "Excuse me, is this... is this a normal supermarket?"

"More or less. Just check out the store rules and you'll see," Gu Wanyin said, pointing to the rules posted on the wall.

After carefully reading the rules, the two girls ran to the shelves to check the prices of various items.

Gu Wanyin overheard them muttering to each other.

"It's a bit expensive. One spirit orb for 100 points, and a single loaf of bread costs 10 points. I only have one spirit orb on me..."

"But look at this bread—it looks so delicious! At least it's definitely normal bread, way better than what they have at the transit station."

"That's true. Should we exchange for 100 points first and buy some food to try? I really don't want to eat the food from the transit station anymore!"

"Okay."

With that, they exchanged one spirit orb for a 100-point shopping card, then bought two loaves of bread, two bottles of mineral water, two compressed biscuits, and two cans of food, using up all 100 points.

After swiping the card, before they even left the supermarket, the two girls tore open the bread packaging and took a bite.

"Delicious! Even better than the bread I ate before entering the horror world!"

"Compared to the stuff at the transit station, this is heaven and earth apart!"

"Is the transit station where you rest between missions?" Gu Wanyin asked curiously.

"Yeah," one of the girls nodded. "There's accommodation there, and they sell food too. The food isn't expensive—you could probably buy over twenty loaves of bread for one spirit orb—but it's super gross! Barely edible!"

The other girl agreed, "Exactly! If we weren't afraid of starving to death, no one would touch that food!"

"Big sis, the food here is a bit more expensive than at the transit station, but it's so much better!"

"We just came out for a walk and stumbled upon this supermarket. How lucky!"

"If you can, you might want to stock up," Gu Wanyin smiled. "Because in a few days, my supermarket will be closing down."

The two girls huddled together and discussed for a moment.

The other girl still had two spirit orbs left, and they decided to exchange them all for points to buy food.

They could eat sparingly to make it last longer, which would still be better than eating the food from the transit station!

Just as the two were carefully calculating what filling foods to buy, suddenly, a large group of customers flooded in.

"Ah!" One of the girls instinctively cried out, while the other quickly covered her mouth.

Both their faces showed looks of terror because the large group that had just entered weren't human—they were ghosts from the horror world!

Although there were rules in the horror world that ghosts couldn't harm players outside of missions, some ghosts would ignore the rules when they went berserk...

However, these ghosts didn't seem to pay any attention to the girls. They walked straight towards the checkout counter.

With so many ghosts pouring in at once, the atmosphere turned chillingly eerie. Even Gu Wanyin couldn't help but shiver.

Leading the pack was the Black-Clothed Ghost who had earlier fled in embarrassment.

"Hey, fancy seeing you again," Gu Wanyin greeted him. "Did you bring all these customers for me?"

"Cut the crap!" the Black-Clothed Ghost roared. "I'm here to teach you a lesson!"

Hearing this, Gu Wanyin glanced at the dozen or so ghosts behind him.

They were all baring their teeth and snarling, seemingly trying to intimidate her.

Gu Wanyin blinked and smiled, "Well, you're welcome to try."

Her words enraged all the ghosts, but just as they were about to attack, they suddenly found themselves frozen in place.

None of the ghosts could move! They could only stand there, staring at each other in bewilderment.

"It's happening again! What did you do?" the Black-Clothed Ghost demanded angrily.

The two girls who had been watching from the side were so shocked their jaws dropped.

The owner of this supermarket was incredible! She wasn't afraid of over a dozen ghosts, and she seemed to have immobilized them all!

If they could learn this skill, they'd never be afraid during missions again!

"The store rules are right there. You saw them but didn't follow them. What can I do?" Gu Wanyin said helplessly. "There are so many items in the supermarket. Can't you just pick out something you want to buy?"

"Shut up! You—"

Before the Black-Clothed Ghost could finish, a wooden bucket suspended by a rope suddenly appeared above their heads.

The bucket was filled with a black liquid, and it was gradually tilting, about to pour its contents onto their heads.

"W-what's in that bucket?" one ghost asked, trembling. "It couldn't be..."

"Black dog blood, of course," Gu Wanyin said casually, flipping through a novel.

"What? Black dog blood!"

"Help! They're trying to kill us ghosts!"

"Black-Clothed Ghost, you didn't say anything about black dog blood here!"

In this horror world, the most effective weapon against ghosts and monsters was black dog blood.
