Chapter 262: Assassin Hall

Li Yao also prepared honey roasted meat and activated two Single Scrolls, increasing his armor and movement speed.

He then pulled out a bottle of Winter Springs Liquor. After hesitating for a moment, Li Yao decided not to open it. His current level was too low, and the benefits he would get from the liquor were underwhelming, making it a waste to consume at this point.

After some thought, Li Yao also enchanted a few dozens of Silver Elite Guards with a Group Armor Scroll.

“I have good news,” Li Yao’s sister communicated, telling him, “Yesterday, our guild’s core team finally defeated the final boss of the Evil Cave.”

“That sounds like a worthwhile loot.”

Li Yao was not surprised, for his contribution had clarified the boss’s mechanics, making it plausible to defeat the boss by other means.

“However, it was not just us. Many others have also successfully cleared the cave,” Li Yao’s sister said regretfully.

“As long as we don’t fall behind, it’s fine,” Li Yao reassured.

“I know. The Shining Fruit you asked me to sell is most likely going to be sold out in a few days, and it’s still in demand. However, it appears players have found new places to harvest Shining Fruit. Although the market demand still exceeds the supply, there’s noticeably more than before and it has even started to appear in auctions,” Li Yao’s sister said, sending him some screenshots at the same time.

“That’s okay, it’s because of the exploration of the new map. Many Level 10 maps have been opened leading to an increase in the production of Shining Fruit. We just need to sell ours quickly.”

Li Yao got the idea. The significant increase in the production of Shining Fruit was inevitable, as many maps were now spawning the fruit at a higher rate.

For instance, the Dark Gray valley, which was overrun with vegetation and herbs more than in ordinary maps, but the appearance of Shining Fruit would still flourish for a few days, considering the numerous participants involved.

However, that would be all. The price of the Shining Fruit would gradually decline, eventually reaching a suitable price range but certainly not reducing to the original three silver coins per group.

“Indeed, you made a significant profit from this. Our gold coins are more than sufficient now. So, I think we shouldn’t participate in the collection and resale of Shining Fruit anymore. Let the big merchants and major guilds enjoy some of the benefits, or else our guild, Starfire, would be resented,” Li Yao’s sister earnestly suggested. Regardless of what one does, monopolizing all the resources is likely to be disliked and can easily lead to isolation.

“I understand. You take the lead on it.”

Li Yao’s sister thought for a moment and then said, “And there’s one last issue. There seems to be upsurge of spies in our guild. However, it’s not confirmed yet. I need to investigate further.”

“Our members have started to get ambushed?” Li Yao frowned. The Starfire Guild wasn’t involved in any major activities at the moment. The primary concern was currently about upgrading the guild to level three, selling some information could go unnoticed, hence, the only way to spot any discrepancies would be if the movements of the guild’s members are betrayed.

“Yes, some guild members have been ambushed sporadically since yesterday. At first, we thought it was accidental, but today the number of members being ambushed is increasing. I have already given instructions to forbid members from revealing their location in the guild channel. However, it appears to be of little use. It seems there might be quite a few spies, and some of them might even be in high positions,” she explained the situation in detail.

“It is inevitable that there will be traitors in every guild. It is an unfortunate truth,” Li Yao thought for a moment and suggested, “We can pretend to leak some information to the suspected members. We should be able to uncover some of them that way.”

Li Yao’s sister agreed and proposed, “I don’t think this is enough, it’s not aggressive enough. Clearly, this time, the three major guilds are trying to exhaust us. Passive defense and sitting idly would not work.”

Li Yao paused, asking, “What does ‘sister’ suggest?”

“Our guild has quite a number of elite rogues, already close to a hundred,” Li Yao’s sister took a deep breath and continued, “You may not know, but even the Assassination Guild, which specializes in assassination, does not have a hundred elite rogues. I think we should establish an Assassination Hall and launch a counter-attack.”

A light flashed in Li Yao’s eyes, he said, “I’ve overlooked that.”

Li Yao was overly confident. He was only thinking about his revenge and forgot about the power of the guild. Without any further delay, Li Yao added all the rogues into the official guild channel where he had created a new sub-channel called the Assassination Hall.

“I invited you to this channel because the guild is going to establish an Assassination Hall, specifically to carry out assassination quests for the guild. ‘Sister’ will set a policy where you will receive guild points awards for different assassination targets. Joining the Assassination Hall will not affect your daily activities. However, assassination missions are very dangerous. If you don’t like to take risks, feel free to exit this channel. Guild missions and dungeon raids will also contribute to the guild.”

However, Li Yao’s words were unnecessary. The rogues were all fond of player killings (PK), hence no one left the channel. Instead, they were brimming with excitement.

“Guild leader, quit beating around the bush, and start issuing the quests already. No one is leaving. The items in the guild warehouse are still tempting us. We are worried that the guild points gained from doing guild quests are too little,” Shadow Dance wildly expressed everyone’s thoughts.

“Alright. I won’t say much more. I believe everyone knows about the frequent ambushes. We must pay them back in their own coin. You are all elite professionals, and your skills are naturally superior. I hope you can bring honor to our guild.”

“I hereby appoint Shadow Dance as the first leader of the Assassination Hall. Shadow Dance, you are in charge of organizing a dueling among the assassins in the hall to determine the squad leader. However, let me be clear. All these positions, including the hall leader’s, are not fixed. They will be determined by one’s abilities through a monthly competition. That’s all for now. ‘Sister’ will explain the rest in detail,”

Li Yao then exited the channel. He only manages personnel appointments. As for specific matters, he leaves them to others as it would be a waste of energy and time. What he needs to do most is to continually improve his level and strength, keeping his lead.

As long as he continues to achieve his goals and keep the guild’s general direction, the guild will continue to be under his control.

Li Yao took out the Flame Crossbow and looked around the entrance, identifying which target he could hit that would attract fewer beasts.

His objective was not to grind monsters but to carve out a bloody path to enter the Abyss Temple.

This time was comparatively more straightforward. Hundreds of Silver Elite Guards surrounded Li Yao who continuously released Death Black Arrow and picked off nagas elites with lesser health. This strategy helped replenish the diminishing stock of Silver Elites.

Li Yao had already simulated the operation in his mind. He chose the most advantageous route. Although the number of nagas was increasing, he used his terrain advantage and finally reached near a collapsed building…
