MMORPG: Divine Mech Hunter

Chapter 170: Reward of the Victorious (Request for Monthly Tickets)

As the trial came to an end, lights flickered. The top brass from the three factions were teleported over.

“Archangel, it’s your turn now.” The chieftain of the Dark Camp said with a smile.

“Alright.” The Archangel, who looked almost like a mortal, pointed his glowing longsword at the sky.

A lightning bolt streaked across the sky, and the three arenas rumbled and disappeared, transforming into three small priest platforms. Li Yao, Tie Niu, and Fei Lun stood on the platforms respectively.

“This trial was truly impressive, especially you, Prairie Fire. You didn’t disappoint us. You showed both courage and strategy. A trial does not only test an individual’s strength but also their survival skills and their ability to use the current environment to their advantage.”

The Chieftain gave Li Yao a glance of approval, continuing, “Okay, in fact, you’re all smart. You must have learned a lot from this trial. I won’t waste time talking. A warrior should receive the reward he deserves. Archangel, please proceed.”

“Three warriors, accept the blessings bestowed upon you.”

With the words of the Archangel, three beams of light fell from the sky, enveloping each of them.

The beam concentrated on the central priest’s platform was the most intense. Although the other participants did not know what rewards they got, everyone knew that they had been hugely benefitted.

The players participating in the trial watched with envy, especially Gu Cheng. Despite smiling, his clenched fists betrayed the fact that his mood wasn’t as pleasant.

“System: Congratulations, player, you’ve received the main blessings, leading to permanently increased attributes.”

“System: After receiving the main blessings, Life +300, Armor +50, All attributes resistance +25, Strength +50, Agility +50.”

Li Yao was pleased. At this stage, the attributes were equivalent to wearing an extra piece of equipment, although the value was mostly in the last three attributes.

All attributes resistance increased by 25 was priceless. The strength increased by 50 was equivalent to obtaining an additional 50 points in strength, making him stronger.

What pleased him the most was agility. To be honest, his level was too low at this point.

Others might think he was very strong now, but he was well aware that the current body couldn’t tap into his real strength. It’s not that he was too strong, but at this stage, the players are still not matured and generally weak.

“An increase of 200 in life, 30 on armor, and 10 on resistance, not bad,” said Tie Niu, then turned to Li Yao and asked, “Hey, what blessings did you get?”

“Almost the same as you,” Li Yao didn’t say much, believing that silently making big money was the better option.

“Huh, thought I wouldn’t guess, definitely better than mine.” Tie Niu felt depressed as he looked at Li Yao’s face. His previous triumph was swept away, and his face was full of dissatisfaction.

“It’s okay.” Li Yao said.

“Okay, your sister! The blessing of light on your body was soothing, but looking at you, my entire body feels uncomfortable. Damn it.”

The light spread, and the top hundred players were also blessed, but they gained fewer attributes, Life +100, Armor +25, Resistance +5.

Overall, they were very satisfied, at least they were not empty-handed. Any increase in permanent attributes was indeed good.

The Chieftain took out the package again and ceremoniously handed it to Li Yao. “When the Archangel was wrongly accused, he voluntarily gave up his wings and descended as a mortal. With the Archangel’s descent, the Angel’s Wing was also shattered by the Judging Archangel and scattered around the world. We went to great lengths to find these two fragments. You know how precious they are. I hope you use them well. You’re fated to have them, and one day, I hope you can make the real Angel’s Wing reappear.”

“Thank you, Chieftain. I will certainly live up to everyone’s expectations.” Li Yao accepted the Angel’s Wing under everyone’s watchful eyes and then asked, “There’s something I don’t understand. Can I ask the Archangel?”

Laughing, the Archangel nodded, “Today you are the protagonist. Of course, you can ask.”

All eyes turned to Li Yao, full of curiosity and envy. They already knew their situation. It was rare to have a good relationship with the Camp’s leader.

Li Yao nodded and said, “If I’m not wrong, you are the owner of the wings mentioned by the Chieftain. According to what I know of the history of the Sanctuary, only one Archangel fell to earth, the Justice Angel, the symbol of justice.”

“You’re pretty clever, so what’s your question? I promise I can answer you straightforwardly,” the Archangel responded, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.

“I want to ask, since these are your wings and you have found the fragments, why didn’t you reclaim them for your own use?” Li Yao slowly stated.

The Archangel’s expression became serious. He observed Li Yao for a while before he said, “These are the Wings of Justice and hold the power of Justice. Now, Justice resides in my heart. Having them or not doesn’t matter anymore. After all, the moment they left my body, they became an external object. Do you understand what I mean?”

“I understand.” Li Yao nodded and said seriously, “But I am still weak. Although the spirit of righteousness is strong, I still need these external things.”

“You’re not bad, find me when you collect all four fragments.” The Archangel handed Li Yao a feather shimmering with sacred light and then stepped back.

Damn!

That was the sentiment of all the players present. Damn it! This is simply unthinkable. Just a few words and he got a task from the world leader, and even got the chance to see him again. How is anyone else supposed to live?

They were all filled with envy and jealousy, but no one dared to make a sound. They knew they were just new recruits; to interject at this point was suicidal. Only Li Yao, as the current top player, had this privilege. In this cruel world, though there were second and third place players, just look at the camp leaders, they didn’t bother intreating with them at all.

“Today is the victory of the Dark Camp, you make the call.” The King stepped back a bit.

The Chieftain’s face glowed. He slapped Li Yao on the shoulder again, then loudly ordered, “Return.”

Lights flashed, and everyone was teleported onto the airship.

Li Yao reappeared behind the Queen.

“You have finally not embarrassed me this time. You’re barely satisfactory. Come see me tomorrow.” The Queen finished speaking and said no more, apparently losing interest in further conversation.

Li Yao gave a bitter smile. He knew the Queen must be very satisfied, but her words…

The players began to log off, and Li Yao, Tie Niu, and Fei Lun were called to the stage while the others returned to their choices for chief.

“The demonstration match has ended. I won’t repeat the rankings. Express your emotions with your cheers.”

As the host spoke, the entire stadium went silent.

Prairie Fire! Prairie Fire! Prairie Fire!…

At first, it was just scattered shouts, then the shouting became louder and more frequent.

After a while, the entire stadium, hundreds of thousands of people simultaneously and continuously hailed this name…
