Chapter 163: Chapter 163 Fathead Fish
They would intermittently block the nearby customers, forcefully stuffing flyers into their hands.
A middle-aged man, sturdy and imposing, sat at the entrance, stretching one leg across the way.
Many delivery people and customers had to walk around him.
Wang Qingshan stood by, staring intently at the middle-aged man, his fists clenched so tightly they cracked.
If it hadn\'t been for people recording the scene nearby, he probably would have already taken a swing.
Chen Yu\'s brows furrowed slightly; he hadn\'t expected that these people, who had delivered an invitation yesterday, would get aggressive so soon.
The group noticed Chen Yu approaching and quickly surrounded him.
The man in the lead stepped directly in front of Chen Yu.
"Mr. Chen, Huameilai has already prepared a feast and is waiting for you to come over. Let\'s head there now!" he said.
Chen Yu glanced at the time: "It\'s still early, I\'ve got some things to handle in my store first. Wait here!"
The crowd grew discontent, having woken up early and waited all this time just to take Chen Yu with them; they didn\'t expect to be ordered around by him.
"Mr. Chen, I advise you to come with us now, otherwise, do you know the consequences?"
Chen Yu looked down, his fingers twitching slightly.
"What consequences?"
The middle-aged man\'s hands clenched tightly then relaxed, the crackling sound of his bones displacing rang out.
"Then don\'t blame us for being rude!"
As his words fell, a group seemed ready to charge into the shop.
Li Gang, Ning Kai, and Wang Qingshan immediately blocked the entrance, and it looked as though a conflict would erupt at any moment.
Suddenly, Chen Yu raised his hand and grabbed the lead man\'s arm.
"Rude? Are you qualified?"
The pain shooting through his wrist caused the man\'s body to tremble violently, and his eyes fixed on Chen Yu with a newfound fear.
Before he could react, he felt a strong force and his entire body was sent flying.
Chen Yu chose to turn and easily dodge the crowd.
"Wait here. I\'ll leave when I come out!"
The group that had just been menacing now stood like a bunch of quails, not daring to move an inch.
"Old Chen, should we call the police, have Officer Zhou come over?" Wang Qingshan was already seething with anger.
Chen Yu waved his hand dismissively: "No need, these people are definitely packaged goods, with no traces to be found by the authorities. I have to handle this personally."
After placating everyone, Chen Yu walked out of the door.
Huameilai Hotel was one of the few five-star hotels in Suzhou City, and it also boasted a Michelin-rated restaurant.
As soon as Chen Yu arrived, he was captivated by the hotel lobby\'s decor.
The combination of Eastern and Western styles was both elegant and infused with an Oriental charm.
Chen Yu had once planned his own business empire and contemplated that if he were to open a hotel of the same caliber, such decor could serve as inspiration.
In the center of the hall stood a table, with an old man seated at the head, sipping tea nonchalantly, exuding an air of disdain for everything around him.
Meanwhile, Chen Yu had been examining the decor since entering, completely ignoring the old man.
"The young people nowadays really have no respect for their elders, not even offering a cup of tea when they see one," he said.
The old man tapped the table a few times in annoyance, prompting his bodyguards to rush towards Chen Yu, attempting to forcibly bring him over.
However, to their surprise, as the bodyguards approached, Chen Yu lifted his hand and delivered a powerful slap.
Each slap was extraordinarily forceful, knocking each one unconscious with a single strike, laying out five men flat on the ground.
The old man\'s eyes widened in disbelief, as his bodyguards were all specially trained, yet they proved to be no match for Chen Yu, as frail as chicks.
Exhaling a breath of foul air, the old man dropped the subject of offering tea.
"Young man, the Suzhou City Culinary Association has been established for decades, admitting only renowned chefs and businesses, being here was supposed to be an opportunity for you to climb up, don\'t be ungrateful," he said.
Chen Yu continued to pay no attention, instead, he stroked the column next to him, asking the waiter nearby about the material of the column.
The old man was livid with rage, seeing as no one had ever dared to ignore him like this.
"Hey, kid, Mr. Hu Yan is talking to you!" a man standing beside the old man suddenly shouted.
This fellow was extremely corpulent, his beer belly stuck out as if he were pregnant.
Only then did Chen Yu turn his head: "I presume you must be the famous Fathead Fish of Suzhou City, Mr. Li Jiakai."
Li Jiakai snorted coldly: "Since you recognize me, then..."
"I was merely giving a symbolic greeting, after all, you reek of smoke, but I guess that still qualifies you as a chef," Chen Yu said.
Li Jiakai\'s eyes bulged in anger: "What do you mean by that?"
Chen Yu spread his hands: "Since this is the Culinary Association, the majority gathered here should be chefs, but from the moment I walked in, only Mr. Li could barely be considered a chef."
Li Jiakai became furious: "Barely? Do you have any idea how many awards I have won for the Suzhou City Culinary Association? Three of them are even of a world-class level!"
"What a pity, though, all those awards have something to do with your Spicy Fish Head! Relying on a single specialty to win acclaim everywhere doesn\'t really make one a chef, if I\'m honest."
Li Jiakai hopped around in anger, his hefty belly shaking up and down.
"Kid, if you\'re so capable, let\'s have a competition, I can even refrain from making Fish Head for you," he challenged.
With a slight smile, Chen Yu replied, "That wouldn\'t be fair, would it? If you lose without making Fish Head, wouldn\'t it seem like I\'m bullying you?"
Li Jiakai\'s breathing became ragged as he waved to someone nearby.
"Roll out the mobile kitchen for me, today I need to teach this kid a lesson."
Soon enough, two fully equipped mobile kitchens were rolled out.
Chen Yu didn\'t say much; since a challenge was posed, he was ready to accept.
"Master Li, I plan to make a Sichuan Fish Head dish to seek your guidance, please use all your skill in making Spicy Fish Head," he said.
Although the words were extremely humble, they were filled with provocation.
Li Jiakai snorted coldly, saying no more as he took a fish head from the ingredient shelf.
Hu Yan and the other bigwigs of the Culinary Association stepped back, giving ample space to the two of them.
As soon as Li Jiakai got hold of the fish head, he became excited as if injected with chicken blood, his bulky body suddenly moving with agility. He even spun several circles on the spot, spoon in hand.
