Chapter 47 - 47 Base Mutation Technique
They had been teleported to that planet earlier than Lin Shen. Lin Shen had entered later than they had, and their teleporter’s cooldown period was a lot shorter than Lin Shen’s, so they should have teleported back even earlier.
Now that they still hadn’t returned, either they were already dead and thus unable to teleport back, or they were unwilling to come back, having found other gains on that planet.
Lin Shen still hoped that they could return, after all, if he were to go to Gourd Mountain again, he would still need the guidance of the Dark Birds they carried.
The Qi and Wang families, upon learning of Lin Shen’s return, became unusually quiet, and no one dared to probe for information.
They were extremely afraid that their own people might never return, and if so, it would probably be difficult for the Qi and Wang families to compete with the Lin Family anymore.
In fact, the four managers of the Lin Family came to visit Lin Shen. Lin Shen did not say much, only instructing them to each mind their roles and maintain the normal operation of the Lin Family’s business.
After sending off the four managers, Lin Shen had a thorough chat with Wei Wufu and ultimately decided to have Wei Wufu stay with the Lin Family.
Wei Wufu did not need to manage the affairs of the Lin Family’s business, he just needed to follow Lin Shen’s orders.
The Lin Family hastened back for a total of four important matters.
The first matter was to wait for Death Powder to complete its evolution; it was Lin Shen’s main battle pet. With it, Lin Shen would have more security when going to that planet again.
The second was to acquire more pets, equipment, and Fire Seeds in preparation for the next visit to that planet.
The third matter was to go on a matchmaking visit and have children. With no amount of preparation being enough for that place, and no knowledge of what dangers might be encountered, Lin Shen had to ensure the continuation of the Lin Family’s bloodline in case he did not return. This was a promise he had made to his brothers and sisters, and it had to be fulfilled.
The fourth matter was to learn an Evolution Skill suitable for him.
After undergoing Base Mutation, one can begin to practice the Evolution Skill, which is a method for purifying and refining a Base Variant Body.
Simply put, it is about removing impurities within the Steel Body, Alloy Body, and Crystal Base, enhancing the Attribute quality, and improving absorption of the Base Mutation Fluid.
Of course, this is just the human understanding. In fact, in the universe, the Evolution Skill is not referred to as such but rather called “Evolution Skill.”
There are countless varieties of Evolution Skills in the universe, with almost every race possessing its unique Evolution Skill.
However, Evolution Skills are also ranked, and according to Tian Xin, the five most widespread and top-ranked Evolution Skills in the universe are the “Heavenly Heart Skill,” “All-Life Genesis,” “Evolution Theory,” “Divine Transmutation Scripture,” and “Origin Scripture.”
These are abbreviations for the five supreme Evolution Skills, for example, “Heavenly Heart Skill” is officially known as “Celestial Unity Mind Skill.” It was initially created by the Celestial Race and later became widely propagated, with many races considering the “Celestial Unity Mind Skill” as an essential part of their core curriculum, claiming it to be the foremost among the top five Evolution Skills.
Of course, Lin Shen felt that Tian Xin was somewhat boastful.
Lin Shen analyzed on his own that these five Evolution Skills could not be considered the supreme ones; they were simply the most classic and widespread.
It’s all interconnected logic, and Lin Shen did not believe that the Great Cosmic Clans of the universe would be so generous as to share their most cutting-edge Evolution Skills with other races.
There are far too many races in the universe, and a newly space-faring race like humans would have difficulty attracting attention from those Great Clans.
Many races, after stepping into the universe, quickly disappear without a trace, and then new races rise once again.
Tian Xin said he knew of the human race, but only a very few humans, those humans were not very famous, just happened to be known.
This was also confirmed by Wei Wufu, who agreed that indeed many humans had ventured out, but as for universally known human powerhouses, there hadn’t been any thus far, only a few with some minor fame.
Tian Xin mentioned a cosmic ranking of races, in which humans didn’t even qualify to make the list.
The ranking stops at one hundred million, and most races, just like humans, don’t qualify, which shows the vast number of races in the universe and the intensity of the competition.
As for the possibility of invasion by one of the great cosmic clans, this wasn’t something to worry too much about for the time being.
Even for those great clans, traveling across the universe to another life planet is extremely difficult and requires an excessively long time.
By the time they arrived, humans might have already vanished into the long river of history.
Interstellar pathways were mainly reliant on teleporters, like the wrist device Lin Shen wore previously; you could only use a teleporter within a specific teleportation area and teleportation was all directional, with each device corresponding to a single planet.
There hadn’t been any teleporters discovered that could transport individuals here, and even if there were, with such poor base mutation resources, it was unlikely many would come.
Like on the planet Lin Shen and his group visited before, where one could stumble upon mutant creatures just by wandering around, encountering mutant creatures here was as likely as winning the lottery.
What puzzled Lin Shen was the fact that on that planet teeming with mutant creatures, not a single Fire Seed was found, which was quite strange.
“Could it be that only the native base variant creatures here carry the Fire Seed?” Lin Shen couldn’t help but entertain the thought.
This would need to be confirmed through finding more Fire Seeds.
Lin Shen recalled the “Celestial Unity Mind Skill” he learned from Tian Xin, and although he had committed it to memory, he had no intention of practicing it.
First, he didn’t trust Tian Xin, and second, there was no need.
On their planet, there was not only the “Heavenly Heart Skill” but also “Evolution Theory,” “All-Life Genesis,” “Divine Transmutation Scripture,” and “Origin Scripture.”
The five great classical Evolution Skills of the universe were all circulating here.
Lin Shen compared what Tian Xin said about the “Celestial Unity Mind Skill” with the “Heavenly Heart Skill” he had seen previously, and they were almost identical, with roughly the same content, only minor details differing.
However, in the Evolution Skills, the five classical skills were all referred to by their abbreviations.
The sole difference was that only the Base Mutation level part had been circulated through the Evolution Skills, while Tian Xin’s version included the latter parts as well.
Lin Shen had asked Wei Wufu about this, and he didn’t know who had originally brought these Evolution Skills back, stating that initially, only the Base Mutation part was known, and later, some humans obtained fragments of the rest, though most weren’t complete.
As Lin Shen suspected, the five great Evolution Skills were actually quite basic, and even the large bases and major families had abandoned these five classic skills in favor of practicing more advanced Evolution Skills.
Like Wei Wufu, who had all five base Evolution Skills at home, but chose to practice another secret Evolution Skill, which, reportedly, was a secret technique from a great cosmic clan obtained through an opportunity by one of his family elders.
Furthermore, Wei Wufu had already promised Lin Shen that he would teach him that secret Evolution Skill.
