Chapter 321 - 322 Lies and Truth (3)
Perhaps the light warmed him. Qin Zhiyou even felt disoriented, as if they truly had been in love like this all along.
Quite a while later.
The “knock knock knock” at the door disrupted the extraordinary atmosphere between the two.
The servant’s voice echoed from outside: “Young Master, Young Madam, the lunch downstairs is ready.”
Qin Zhiyou felt a touch of impatience, he grunted in response. Deciding he didn’t want to go down so early, he circled around to the side of the chair, sat down, and gathered her into his arms. The leather sofa they were seated on was fairly spacious, but it was still somewhat crowded with two people. Qin Zhiyou felt content, holding this precious treasure in his arms, he didn’t even want to move.
He sniffed her, the pleasant scent from her making his heart gallop.
Lu Weixi certainly noticed his little actions. Usually, her heart was as calm as a quiet lake, but that pink teddy bear was like a pebble thrown into it, creating ripples of disturbance.
She hadn’t thought too much about it in the past, only ever marveling at his boundless energy. The most she’d done was to avoid touching him after his playful bouts. First, because she found him dirty, second, because she was afraid of catching a disease.
However, today, she was not sure why, but she didn’t want to get this intimate with Qin Zhiyou.
Behind her, Qin Zhiyou began to mutter: “I need to talk to Mr. Liao later.”
Feeling puzzled, Lu Weixi twisted around to look at him. Qin Zhiyou smirked and said, “I think the revolving chair in his office is pretty great. We should buy one to try it out.”
Here we go again. At first, she found his words annoying, then she was left speechless, and now she felt rather repulsed.
She said: “Qin Zhiyou.”
Qin Zhiyou grunted in acknowledgment and looked at her. After a while, Lu Weixi shook her head without saying anything: “Let’s go downstairs. It’s lunchtime.”
Qin Zhiyou held her hand, stopping her from leaving. “What were you about to say a moment ago?”
Lu Weixi maintained a calm expression: “Nothing, I was just asking whether you have work today or not.”
“Don’t worry, not only do I not have work, but our uncles and aunts aren’t going either,” Qin Zhiyou said smugly.
Cleverly exploiting the situation yesterday, he’d managed to expose the tension within the family. Of course, he was careful enough not to leave any evidence that he hinted at the matter, even if his uncles and aunts knew he was behind it. He knew his relatives too well. How could they go to work at a time like this? Of course, they would stay to appease the elder and showcase their love and unity to exhibit the family’s harmony.
Also, if he steps out, they wouldn’t taunt him like before. Instead, they might even appease him when they come back. The thought of such a scenario made him very happy.
“Alright, I’m a bit hungry. Let’s go,” she said, standing up without waiting for Qin Zhiyou and walked out of the room.
Qin Zhiyou also felt something was odd about her. He watched her open the door and step outside. Then, glancing at the table, he noticed the little pink teddy bear he had hidden. He knew she had found it.
His expression changed slightly. After a moment of thought, he quickly dialed a number on his phone, lowering his voice: “Secretary Wang, about that pink teddy bear keychain of mine, see if you can find any similar ones on Taobao…”
Although he spoke softly, Lu Weixi was still standing by the doorway and faintly heard his words.
Why would he specifically instruct Secretary Wang if he didn’t feel guilty?
