Chapter 129 - The Young Master of the Gao Clan’s Chamber of Commerce

Chapter 129: The Young Master of the Gao Clan’s Chamber of Commerce

Ling Chuxi’s venomous tongue frequently angered people to death, whilst she never bothered compensating with her life.

Gao Rongrong finally regained her senses and noticed that Ling Chuxi was insulting her.

Furious, she reached out her hand, pointing at Ling Chuxi as she scolded her, “Ling Chuxi, you still dare to be arrogant now? I have looked into your background and you’re just a despicable peasant! You’re all alone here now, without the fifth princess and Mu Liufeng to back you up. Let’s see if you still dare to be so arrogant! I’ll make sure you leave here lying down!”

The attendant who brought Ling Chuxi up turned green. What was this situation? Why did the guest he brought up seem to have a big conflict with the master of the establishment?

“Oh, do you have such an ability?” asked Ling Chuxi, looking at Gao Rongrong with a half-hearted smile. Her face was calm. “A despicable peasant? What? Is the Gao family descended from kings, dukes, generals or ministers? Or does the Gao family wish that they had that kind of powerful ancestors now?”

Lost her backers? Hehe, Ling Chuxi sneered internally. Gao Rongrong did not seem to understand that she, Ling Chuxi, did not need any backers whatsoever.

“Compared to you, our Gao family is naturally...” said Gao Rongrong haughtily in a loud voice.

But before she could finish, a stern voice cut her off, “Rongrong! You shut up!”

A thin young man with a cold face came over from the back of the hall.

“Eldest brother! This is the despicable peasant who relied on the fifth princess to bully me.”

The moment Gao Rongrong saw the person, it was as if she had seen a savior. She immediately ran over to him.

The person yelled at Gao Rongrong even more sternly, “Shut your mouth!”

He raised his head and calmly looked at Ling Chuxi, then silently gestured to the attendant. The two or three remaining guests in the hall were very quickly but courteously invited to go to the lower floor. Even these guests could see that this matter was not something that they could simply watch from the sidelines, and thus they went downstairs without complaining.

Ling Chuxi sized up the person who had just arrived. He looked like he was about twenty-five or twenty-six. He was dressed in a sapphire blue brocade, and a white jade accessory was hanging by his waist. He was handsome, but there seemed to be a fierce aura around him, making one not dare to underestimate him.

Ling Chuxi figured that this man was probably Gao Rongrong’s eldest brother, the young master of the Gao Clan’s Chamber of Commerce — Gao Wentian.

Gao Wentian’s gaze was like a sharp sword as he stared at Ling Chuxi. He secretly felt surprised. This young, immature looking young maiden was the one who had defeated Lan Xinyu and made his own unruly younger sister suffer?

She looked so slender and weak, but her determined gaze made Gao Wentian understand that Ling Chuxi was definitely not as weak as she appeared. Her simple sentence just now almost caused Gao Rongrong to fall into a trap.

“Is the Gao family descended from kings, dukes, generals or ministers? Or does the Gao family wish that they had that kind of powerful ancestors now?”

The Gao family naturally were not the descendants of previous kings, dukes, generals or ministers. If Gao Rongrong had replied the latter, then their Gao family would have to bear the crime of rebellion.

Even ten Gao Rongrongs were no match for such a clear minded young maiden!

“May I know what brings Miss Ling to our Ning He Hall?” asked Gao Wentian courteously, a businesslike smile appearing on his face.

Gao Rongrong angrily shook Gao Wentian’s arm as she spoke in a spoiled tone, “Eldest brother, why are you talking so much nonsense with her?! Quickly take revenge for me!”

“Just go to the back first!” he snapped.

Gao Wentian’s face turned cold, and his voice was even colder. Shocked, Gao Rongrong shrunk back her neck and no longer dared to speak. She obediently turned around and went to the back of the hall.

Ling Chuxi raised her brow slightly. This Gao Wentian was not a simple figure. A simple sentence from him could actually make an unruly person like Gao Rongrong become so obedient.
