Thump
Thump
Before they could teleport up, the ground began shaking as a black adamantite golem approached them. It was Digragni, who was around 10 meters tall, who was carrying a golem.
\'Hey, don\'t just stand in front of the teleporter like that. I can\'t get through.\'
"Ah, I\'m sorry."
Allen had not seen the Dungeon Master Digragni in a long time, but they reunited in the God of Magic Isiris\' research facility. He wanted to teleport up, and wanted Allen to move aside for him.
The teleporter circle had a radius of 10 meters, so golems could use it as well.
\'Take me to the 2nd floor.\'
\'Lord Digragni, you\'ll be teleported to the 2nd floor.\'
The cube floating nearby heard Digragni and activated the teleporter.
Allen wanted to go to the 6th floor, but he was not brash enough to interrupt Digragni.
Allen had met Digragni in the S Rank Dungeon, who had powered up Merle\'s Magic Board, and then even got her into Extra Mode, so he had done a lot for Allen.
After hunting Demigod Rank ghosts together, Digragni had become a God.
When they reached the 2nd floor, something else made noise.
"Hey, we\'ll miss our deadline! Hurry up!"
Larappa was shouting loudly while manipulating a futuristic screen.
"Yes! Boss!!"
"Yes! Boss!!"
"Yes! Boss!!"
Larappa was ordering around 9 dwarves on the 2nd floor.
(I believe she picked the best 9 to come here. They all seem to be in high spirits too.)
Larappa seemed to have a bit of a queen complex, and led around 100 dwarves.
She had picked the best 9 out of those to bring along to the divine realm.
Their responses had gotten so much more energetic because she was now Isiris\' assistant.
The dwarves were as tall as elementary schoolers, but they piloted 10 meter tall machines, which let them reach the various hatches underneath a 100 meter long magic ship.
\'I appreciate that you\'re helping me, but…\'
Digragni muttered as he placed the golem he carried inside the magic ship.
"Ah, you\'re back, Commandant."
Larappa noticed Allen\'s presence and walked towards him.
"You seem to be quite busy here. I guess you\'re working hard as an assistant?"
"Pretty much. The God of Magic Isiris keeps requesting I do things for her all the time."
She looked happy to be of so much use to someone important though, and would not stop smiling. Now she stood right next to the God that governed magic, and who had created the Dungeon Master Digragni and dwarves as a race.
The dwarves had been allowed to stay and help there as well, as they were not angels.
"Will this be carrying items to the God of Trading Marne\'s market?"
"Yeah, it is. Apparently they were lagging behind on orders, since only Digragni could help.
We also have a shipment scheduled for the Heavenly Country."
After angels were expelled from Isiris\' Temple, the shipments to the market or Shandar had slowed down considerably, and now Larappa was picking up the pace.
Isiris really wanted to catch up on orders while the dwarves were there helping.
(So that\'s the reason why each floor was so cluttered.)
"So they\'re distributing all the items stocked up here."
"It seems so, Cecile."
All the dwarves were busily cramming items into the enormous magic ship.
It seemed like everyone had a proper role, but then one of the dwarves approached a large black bundle many meters in size that was floating in the air, which made Digragni react.
\'Hey you! Don\'t get close to my Core!!\'
"I-I\'m really sorry."
\'Stand back, stand back, this is a really important Dungeon Core!!\'
Digragni\'s voice sounded enraged and all the dwarves moved away. But Allen\'s group got closer, wondering what was happening.
"I\'m really sorry for that, Lord Digragni, please appease your rage."
Larappa knelt until her face hit the ground as she apologized for enraging a God.
\'It\'s alright… But if this gets tampered with, all the dungeons in the human realm will stop working, so be careful around it.\'
"Yes, duly noted. You all heard him too, right!"
"Yes!!"
"Yes!!"
"Yes!!"
The dwarves climbed out of the machines and also bowed in apology.
Digragni carefully held his Dungeon Core and moved it to a place the dwarves had emptied.
"A Dungeon Core? Is it something like the Magic Cube? Hm? An indent?"
While everyone went back to work, Allen approached the Dungeon Core.
The octahedron with a golden shine looked similar to Merle\'s Magic Cube.
It had a similar shape to the Temple they were in, and one of the faces had an indent.
\'Yeah, I gave Merle a portion of it.\'
The indent was shaped like a cube with an edge of around 10 or 20 centimeters, which was where Merle\'s Magic Cube came from.
"I see. You really gave us something incredibly valuable then."
\'Yeah, so you better be thankful. You obtained a portion of my Divine Artifact and my soul.\'
(I see, so Merle already got a Divine Artifact. I guess that\'s how much of an impression Merle\'s request for Tam-Tam to have a soul left on him. Though that also means…)
Allen had another idea after hearing that.
"I can\'t possibly thank you enough. But does this mean that if Merle obtains Faith Points in the Earth Labyrinth, you\'ll also give her more Blessings and Divine Techniques?"
\'...Of course. I wouldn\'t just take all of that without giving anything in return!!\'
He seemed a bit caught off guard, but ended his response with a loud voice, almost like he was trying to find an excuse, while Allen grinned menacingly.
Now there was one more reason for Merle to work hard in the Earth Labyrinth.
Just like Dogora with Freya, Merle would also give Digragni Faith Points through a Divine Artifact. If she did that long enough, she would get a Divine Technique from Digragni.
"Thank you very much for everything, and for giving Tam-Tam life."
\'...Anyway, this is my life force.\'
Digragni looked at the Dungeon Core, which seemed to beat slightly.
Allen felt like he had spent enough time there, so he prepared to leave.
"Oh right, you should come as well, Larappa."
"Huh? Alright Commandant. I don\'t want anyone slacking off while I\'m gone!"
The dwarves remained there while Larappa followed Allen and Cecile to the 6th floor.
This time the office was clean and orderly.
"You\'ve cleaned up a lot here."
Cecile looked around.
"It was the first thing we did."
Allen looked at Isiris, who sat at her desk.
Moving closer, he could hear her mumbling something, but her face was covered by hair.
Cecile and Allen headed to the desk.
Isiris was scribbling something, not noticing Allen.
"I\'ve collected the Faith Points, so I\'d like to trade them for Spiritual Power regeneration rings."
\'...\'
She did not seem to notice Allen.
"Excuse me!"
\'...There\'s a Faith Point Exchange System, go talk to it.\'
She pointed at the cube device next to the teleporter. She would not handle the exchange herself.
That cube device was not there the last time they were there, so it was probably a new one.
"Thank you very much. Also, we\'ll be heading to the Paradise of Primordial Beasts next to obtain the Beast God Garm\'s tail, but could I know what kind of magic you\'re working on first?"
Allen wanted to know what he would get from that fetch quest.
He remembered most fetch quests never gave anything powerful in his past life.
Though that was also because most fetch quests were really simple.
Here he had to obtain Garm\'s tail or Nestiad\'s heart, which were difficult tasks, so he wanted to know what he would get from the quest before completing it, to decide if it was worth it.
\'...\'
Allen spoke loud and clear, but there was no response. After a while, he began breathing in to shout louder, but Larappa signaled to him.
"Wait, Commandant. The God of Magic Isiris won\'t talk if she has nothing to say. I\'ve already researched that a little myself."
"Really? It\'s only been like 2 or 3 days, but you\'ve already figured it out?"
Allen and Cecile looked at Larappa, waiting for her next words.
"You see, the God of Magic Isiris is researching ancient magic."
"Ancient magic?"
"Ancient magic?"
Allen and Cecile replied at the same time.
