Chapter 889 Mumu Lied to Provide Cover (1)
They tried their best, but in the end, the police officer still shook his head helplessly. “Mr. Lu, the person you are looking for should have turned to take another car by exploiting the blind spot of the monitored area. We can’t find out his whereabouts.”
Kang Ruicheng had planned it for a long time. It would only be a waste of both time and affection if they continued the search, so Lu Boyan chose to give up.
Seeing this, the police chief said, “Boyan, let’s go to my office. We need to find another way.”
When Lu Boyan and the chief entered the office, Mu Sijue just arrived.
As soon as Mu Sijue came in, he asked directly, “How is it?”
“We can’t find Kang Ruicheng.” Lu Boyan’s voice was still calm. “Where is the person that Ah Guang brought back?”
Mu Sijue said, “Ah Guang is watching her.”
At this time, the chief interrupted them and asked, “Boyan, do you really not need a public investigation?”
“Not now.” Lu Boyan said, “I’ll call you if I need your help.”
“Okay, for the record, feel free to contact me.” The chief said, “Your father was killed by the Kang family. We can’t let the same thing happen to your mother.”
Lu Boyan nodded and motioned for the chief to rest assured. Then, he and Mu Sijue left the police station and got into the same car.
As soon as he fastened his seat belt, Lu Boyan said, “Contact Kang Ruicheng.”
Mu Sijue directly dialed Kang Ruicheng’s number, put the phone on speaker, and placed it on the small mobile table.
Kang Ruicheng soon picked up the phone, laughed, and asked, “Do you like the surprise I sent to you?”
“Kang Ruicheng,” Mu Sijue said in a gloomy voice as if a storm was brewing. “You didn’t return Aunt Zhou to me.”
“That’s why I said it was a surprise.” Kang Ruicheng said slowly, “I did not intend to send Mrs. Zhou back from the very beginning. But I guessed that you should be very anxious, so I tried to move ahead with the deal, and you really agreed.”
Mu Sijue’s voice slowly tensed up. “What do you want?”
“I want Youning,” Kang Ruicheng blurted out. “As long as Youning comes back, I will send the two old ladies back. I won’t stop torturing them until she comes back. Mu Sijue, it’s up to you.”
Mu Sijue hung up the phone and looked at Lu Boyan. “What should we do next?”
Lu Boyan thought for a moment and said, “Let’s first go to see the old lady that Ah Guang brought back. Maybe we can elicit something from her.”
Some time ago, Mu Sijue had bought an office building in the CBD, and Ah Guang had sent the old lady who was disguised as Aunt Zhou there.
Ah Guang asked someone to search the old lady so as to make sure that there was nothing threatening on her body. He did not make things difficult for her but told her to sit down and asked a few questions.
The old lady had been trembling in fear and did not say anything useful.
When Ah Guang was about to lose his temper, Lu Boyan and Mu Sijue arrived.
“Seventh Brother, Mr. Lu.” Ah Guang pointed to the old woman sitting on the sofa and said, “She is the old lady disguised as Aunt Zhou.”
Lu Boyan walked up to the old woman and asked directly, “Where did Kang Ruicheng do your makeup?”
Lu Boyan and Mu Sijue both had an aura of aggression. When they appeared together, even the atmosphere in the entire office building became tense.
The old lady was already afraid, and now she was even more nervous. She said in a trembling voice, “This morning, a gang of people suddenly came to my house and ordered me to disguise myself as an old woman. Otherwise, they warned that they would kill my son.”
The old lady cried as she spoke. “I can’t let my son get hurt. Besides, the leader is my son’s boss. I could only listen to them. I really don’t know what happened, nor do I know who I was disguised as. Didn’t that young man just ask these questions?”
Ah Guang admitted it. “Mr. Lu, I’ve asked all these questions.”
Lu Boyan pondered for a moment and said, “Let her go.”
Although Ah Guang was surprised, he would never doubt Lu Boyan and Kang Ruicheng. He gave his men a look and said, “Send the old lady away.”
The other subordinates knew their place and left.
Ah Guang then asked, “Mr. Lu, why did you let her go so easily?”
Lu Boyan calmly explained, “The old lady is not lying, and she doesn’t know any valuable information. Also, she can’t be our bargain chip, so there is no need for us to make things difficult for an old lady.”
Ah Guang nodded and diverted his attention from the old lady. Then he asked, “What should we do next?”
“Continue the search. Even if you can’t search for them, you have to cause some trouble to him. If we piss Kang Ruicheng off, maybe he will reveal something.” Lu Boyan took a look at Mu Sijue and continued, “Sijue, let’s go to my company. I need to contact someone.”
When Lu Boyan and Mu Sijue were on the way to the company, Kang Ruicheng and Mumu were also on their way home.
Kang Ruicheng put away his mobile phone, with a triumphant smile on his face. It made him look gloomy and happy.
However, Mumu’s eyes were red, and he looked at Kang Ruicheng with great dissatisfaction.
“All right.” Kang Ruicheng gave Mumu a rarely gentle look and said, “I’ll take you home.” He reached out his hand and wanted to touch Mumu’s head.
Mumu suddenly burst into tears. He dodged and patted Kang Ruicheng on his hand with a look of resistance.
Kang Ruicheng’s expression changed. “Mumu?” It was a warning with a hint of anger in it.
Mumu ignored Kang Ruicheng’s displeasure, turned to look out of the window, and rolled down the window.
For people like Kang Ruicheng, personal safety was always the first priority. Especially when he was outside, the first rule was never to open the window.
Opening the window meant that someone would be given a chance to shoot him, and he could be dead at any time.
Regardless of whether Mumu knew this rule or not, he would not allow him to break the rule. There was no exception, even if Mumu was his son!
Kang Ruicheng held Mumu in his arms, immediately closed the window, and shouted at him, “What are you doing!?”
Not to mention Mumu, even the driver in the driver’s seat was startled by his shouting.
Mumu was shocked and looked at Kang Ruicheng in a daze. Then, he completely lost control of his tears. He cried out loudly and struggled with all fours. “Let me go. I don’t want to be with you. Let me go!”
Kang Ruicheng was so angry that his chest rose and fell violently. “Who do you want to be with?!”
“It’s not you anyway. I hate you!” Mumu cried hysterically. “I don’t want you to be my daddy. Let me go, let me go!”
The malice in Kang Ruicheng’s eyes became more intense. He suddenly grabbed Mumu hard with his hands as tough as iron bars. “I am warning you. Don’t move!”
Dongzi, who was in the passenger seat, turned around and explained to Mumu, “Mumu, we will be in danger if you roll down the window. Daddy did that for your safety. Don’t cry. Let’s go home.”
“Why didn’t you send Granny Zhou back!” Mumu finally shouted. “You obviously promised Uncle Mu that as long as I went home, you would send Granny Zhou back. You broke your promise. I hate you!”
“What did you call Mu Sijue?” Kang Ruicheng looked at Mumu gloomily and emphasized in an imperative manner, “Mumu, you can’t call Mu Sijue uncle!”
Mumu was so angry that he could not speak Mandarin fluently. Subconsciously, he said in English, “We are talking about Granny Zhou. Don’t change the subject. I won’t talk to you about that!”
“Do you really want that old lady surnamed Zhou to go back?” Kang Ruicheng knew Mumu more or less. He soon guessed something and asked, “Do you like that old lady very much?”
“...” Mumu wiped away his tears and did not say anything.
Kang Ruicheng understood that Mumu had tacitly admitted it.
He laughed and said, “Since you like her so much, isn’t it better for you to let her stay here so that she can accompany you?”
Mumu’s eyes lit up. He stared at Kang Ruicheng and said, “I heard you. You said that you would ask Granny Zhou to accompany me.”
Kang Ruicheng said, “As long as you stop crying, I can promise you anything.”
Mumu wiped away his tears and said, “I still need Granny Tang to accompany me!”
“Tang Yulan?” Kang Ruicheng was a little confused. “You also know her?”
Kang Ruicheng did not know what exactly had happened to Mumu when he was away from him, nor did he know if he had seen Tang Yulan.
“Yes!” Mumu looked innocent. “Granny Tang is the babies’ grandmother. I like Granny Tang the way I like Granny Zhou!”
Kang Ruicheng did not doubt Mumu’s words. He nodded and said inductively, “If you want Granny Tang to accompany you, you need to answer a few questions.”
Mumu blinked and said, “Questions? Are they very difficult?”
“No.” Kang Ruicheng asked, “Have you heard Auntie Youning talk about where you lived when you were with her?”
Mumu shook his head. “No.”
Kang Ruicheng frowned and asked further, “Then where did you live?”
“The house I lived with Auntie Youning is like my house in Country A!” Mumu said, “Those houses are built separately. Auntie Youning and Auntie Jian’an live in different houses, and there is a garden before the house.”
Mumu was talking about the villa.
Kang Ruicheng first thought of the villa area.
Could it be that Mu Sijue and Xu Youning were actually in Dingya Villas?
Kang Ruicheng asked further for confirmation, “Mumu, do you remember anything else?”
“It’s so cool there!” Mumu said, “We can even park the helicopter!”
In Dingya Villas, there was indeed a private helistop.
Kang Ruicheng vaguely saw the hope and continued to ask, “What else?”
“Nothing.” Mumu spread out his hands and said innocently, “I could only stay in Auntie Youning’s house or Auntie Jian’an’s house. I don’t know anything else.”
“You replied very well.” Kang Ruicheng said, “I’ll find a way to get Auntie Youning back.”
Mumu compressed his lips and did not say anything.
He did not tell Daddy that Auntie Youning had asked him to give those answers.
He knew that Auntie Youning and Auntie Jian’an actually lived on the top of a mountain.
However, if he told his daddy the truth, his daddy would bring Auntie Youning back. If so, Auntie Youning and her baby would be in danger.
He had to protect Auntie Youning’s baby and Auntie Jian’an’s babies.
Therefore, he had to lie.
