Chapter 54 The Duel [Part 1]
-Whoosh!
The wind from DragonKnight69\'s sword brushed past Allen\'s body by a mere inch. The danger was real, and he knew that one mistake could cost him dearly. But he had calculated everything. Instead, he seized the opportunity presented to him and swiftly moved into action.
With lightning speed, Allen shifted his body to the side and rotated a full 360 degrees, his dual daggers flashing in the dungeon\'s dim light. His hand deftly slashed his dagger on the swordsman\'s waist, creating a deep gash that sent a spray of virtual blood into the air.
[DragonKnight69 has taken 51 damage points!]
It was a huge damage even though Allen didn\'t use his demonic skill at all.
DragonKnight69 roared in pain and anger, his eyes blazing with fury. He had not expected such a swift and brutal attack from his opponent, and he was not about to let it go unpunished.
So when Allen moved another dagger to slice his opponent, the swordsman moved quickly to block it.
- Clang!
As the blades clashed together with a resounding clang, the sound echoed through the cave. The intensity of their battle had only increased, each move carefully calculated and executed with precision.
The swordsman gritted his teeth, his eyes blazing with anger and determination. He knew that with his sword, he should be able to easily inflict significant damage on his opponent. And as he pushed his weapon toward Allen, he felt confident that he could overpower him and come out victorious.
But Allen was not so easily defeated. Instead of trying to block or counter the sword, he did something unexpected - he simply let the blade swing fully while he jumped backward to avoid any contact with his body. The swordsman was taken aback by Allen\'s sudden move, caught off guard by his opponent\'s unexpected agility and quick thinking.
The swordsman stood there, stunned, as he realized the gravity of his mistake. His flanks were exposed, leaving him vulnerable to an attack from any direction. He knew that he was in trouble, but he was too slow to react in time. Allen, on the other hand, was lightning-fast, his dual daggers flashing in the virtual dim light as he prepared to strike.
Nimbly, Allen\'s hand moved, his fingers deftly wielding his daggers in a blur of motion. He used his best skill, at least for a dual dagger user.
\'Double Attack!\'
The swordsman tried to move out of the way, but it was too late. The first dagger sliced through the air with deadly accuracy, followed by the second, dealing two deep cuts to the swordsman.
[DragonKnight69 has taken 131 damage points!] X2
It was enough to turn his HP to zero. Allen\'s level was higher than his, so either the swordsman\'s level and strategy lost to him.
The swordsman\'s body collapsed onto the damp floor of the cave. The sound of metal hitting stone echoed through the cave as his sword clattered to the ground beside him.
The water beneath him mixed with his blood, creating a macabre scene of red and blue.
[Congratulations! You won the duel!]
[You have managed to kill a player]
[Kill players 5/10]
Allen\'s eyes blazed with arrogance as he lowered his weapons and surveyed the body before him.
"All bark, no bite. Noob!" Allen sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. He said to provoke the others.
But there was no time to revel in his triumph. The quest was still ongoing, and Allen had five more kills to make before his team could claim their prize. He knew that he had to make the swordsman team avenge their fallen comrade.
"How about another match?" one of the dual dagger users said, his eyes glinting with a mixture of excitement and fear.
Allen turned to him, his eyes glittering with confidence. "Sure," he said, his voice dripping with arrogance. "But remember, the same class doesn\'t mean you can defeat me easily," he scoffed, his words a challenge to the other player.
"You just went for a match. What if one of your team?" the dual dagger player said, his voice dripping with contempt. "Is your team just for display? Or do you just want to show up in front of the ladies?" he sneered, his eyes glinting with mischief.
"I will take your challenge," Zoe said coolly, the challenge fuelling her desire to prove her worth.
All players turned to her, looking at Zoe who was folding her arms and leaning on the cave wall not far from them. She had been watching from the sidelines, observing the players as they battled. Her expression was calm and collected as she approached the group. Her footsteps were silent, and she moved with a grace that spoke of power and control.
"You saw how Al beat your friend," she said, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. "So, this fight should be easy for you, right?"
The dual dagger user accepted the challenge without hesitation. He drew his weapons. His fingers wrapped around the hilt of each dagger with ease, and he twirled them expertly before settling into a fighting stance.
"I accept," he said, his voice steady and determined.
Zoe turned to Allen and put on her best confidence smile. "Do you mind?" she asked him, gesturing for him to step aside.
Allen nodded and sheathed his weapons. "The match is yours," he said as he stepped aside, joining the other spectators who had gathered to watch the impending battle.
After the healer gave the dual dagger her buff, the dual dagger sent Zoe a duel invitation.
[BlazeRunner sent a duel request to you. Did you accept his invitation?]
[Yes/No]
\'Yes,\' Zoe chose.
[Duel will start in 3… 2… 1…]
[Start!]
