Chapter 192 Putting Mana Threads into action for the first time!
He didn’t mind her fawning over him as he could see Roy had no intention of getting together with her.
Furthermore, he could also discern that he saw her as a child.
It wasn’t only her who was like a child to him, but also Aydin.
‘He doesn’t have any improper thoughts towards her.’
Aydin breathed out a sigh of relief.
It was hard to believe that Roy was exhibiting no sexual desire towards her or him, as humans were known for killing others to get into the skirts of elves.
They fetishized elves too much.
It’s not wrong to say that having an elven wife would immediately put a man above those who don’t.
Those with elves as the love of their lives drew jealous glances and, in some cases, the wrath of lustful and vain creatures.
‘I am glad he’s our master.’
It was at this moment that Aydin accepted Roy as his master wholeheartedly.
The brilliant display put up by him and many other reason helped him earn Aydin’s loyalty.
‘With a talented person like him backing us, it would be hard for “that” bastard to stop us from investigating what happened that day!’
Aydin’s hand curled into a fist, signs of hatred flashing in his eyes.
Just thinking about that man who annihilated his clan was enough to anger him to no end and set loose the hatred suppressed in the deepest depths of his heart.
‘The emperor would surely favor him after he shows what he is capable of doing in the adulthood ceremony.’
At this moment, a mixture of hatred and rationality clouded his green eyes.
‘A person favored by the emperor isn’t someone that can be harmed or unnecessarily troubled by dukes. That bastard of a duke would need a legal reason to stop him if he started investigating why my clan was annihilated. But I need to prove useful to him, to get him to do that.’
Rationality won over him in the end as his hatred for the Northern Heavenly Duke was suppressed.
Aydin saved all of it for the day when he would face him and hold him accountable for his sins.
‘I should start by calling Roy my master.’
Aydin had lived with his clan for 16 years, but he had never seen them harm or show any signs of harming the people.
That’s to say, his parents and clan members had never exhibited the traits of a chaotic being.
That’s why he was certain that the duke had unjustly killed them.
Meanwhile, Arlo could be seen looking at the charred corpses and piles of ashes in dismay.
“Millions of gold coins have all but gone to waste.”
He clicked his tongue, calling Roy dumb in his mind, before he spoke.
“The wings of the rippers are worth 500 gold coins each. You would have become ten million coins richer if you had used less brutal means to kill them. What a waste!”
Arlo: ლ(ಠ_ಠლ) Come here, let me beat you!
Roy:ヽ(ಠ_ಠ)ノNo thanks!
“I couldn’t think of any other way to overcome them than to use fire! You expect too much from me!”
Roy cried out as he evaded getting kneaded by his muscle-headed uncle.
“Lord Arlo, please don’t bully my master!”
Amelia’s cry fell on deaf ears as they didn’t stop running around the place.
The scene was no less ridiculous than a cat chasing after a mouse.
“Okay, stop!”
Julian shouted, and they both came to a halt and looked at him in confusion.
Julian: ಠ╭╮ಠ I don’t want to stay in this hellhole any longer, and seeing you guys waste time like that makes me feel frustrated.
‘Why does it seem like he is angry?’ Roy wondered after glancing at Julian.
Julian pointed at the many beast cores and runic stones sprawled around them and spoke.
“Let’s get out of this damned place after collecting them.”
The rank-1 fire river had annihilated the swarm of rippers, turning them to dust. But it failed to melt the runic stones and beast cores present in their bodies. Now, these stones and cores were glittering under the moon, asking to be picked up.
The maids and the twins rolled up their sleeves, ready to pick them up, but Roy stopped them, saying, “Doing it manually would take too much time. So don’t even bother.”
“You have a better way?” Delilah eyed him.
He was an eye candy!
“Yeah, I have.” After speaking, Roy activated the spell he had been meaning to try out but hadn’t had the chance to.
『The Mana Thread Spell has been activated!』
A few thousand hair-like threads that were extremely long and fell over and behind Roy’s broad shoulders were instantly created, and each of them was connected to the edges of his three thousand white hair strands.
They were blue in color and made purely out of mana, carrying a grace no less than a resplendent scene.
“Amazing!”
Maya uttered as she saw her master’s hair taking the form of a huge, fast-flowing wave.
When they stretched outwards, the illusion of Roy’s hair growing rapidly was created.
The threads of mana wound around the runic stones and beast cores. Roy curled his fingers and they were picked up and brought to him. It took a couple of seconds for him to pocket all of them. If they had done this manually, an hour or so of their lives would have gone to waste.
『Obtained +350 rank-2 Strength Cores』
『Obtained +175 rank-2 Agility Cores』
『Obtained +375 rank-2 Stamina Cores』
『Obtained +75 rank-2 Health Cores』
『Obtained +199 rank-2 Mana Cores』
『Obtained +75 rank-2 Health Cores』
『Ding! Congratulation. You have gained ×8 sonar release, ×13 skin hardening, and ×6 Fast Flight runic stones』
“Nice!” Roy said as he threw them into his subspace.
Everyone was amazed by how he so easily collected them.
“What a sophisticated way of using mana.” Arlo praised.
“How did you do that?” Delilah asked, “It’s hard for mages to control mana, much less use it in such a way.”
“I have inherited Ninam’s True magic, and I shared it with her. I wanted to tell you guys sooner, but I only got the chance to do it today.” Roy revealed.
Some things didn’t need to be hidden from them.
And… this was one of them.
“Ah… I see. Since it’s Ninam’s True magic, everything you have done so far make sense.”
Delilah was impressed.
“Let’s resume our journey.”
Taking big steps, Arlo moved north. They followed behind him, excited to hold the warm land in their eyes. It was a four-hour walk away from their present destination.
“Kugaaaghhh!”
A terrifying roar was heard as they passed by a few trees.
It terrified the shit out of them!
