Chapter 117

At that moment, a small cavalry squad had surrounded the tipi that held the Divine Warriors. Seeing that there was no movement at all coming out from the tipi, the leader brought a few daredevil from the cavalry and barged into the tent with swords in their hand. And then, a few seconds later, those few people could be seen flying out from the tipi and landed on the grass at a distant, their faces badly battered with bloody noses and swollen faces.

“Quick, report to the king that these four people are still sleeping in the tent. The rest of you, retreat now! Don’t disturb them!” Clutching his own nose that was gushing out blood like no tomorrow, the leader immediately ordered his men. Even though he was just thrown out from the tent, he did not dare to act rashly or to take his revenge. Instead, he was actually very glad that he managed to make it out of the tent alive.

In truth, the Divine Warriors actually had the intention to smash those people who came in to disrupt their peaceful sleep into pulp but remembering Baiyi’s order, they decided to show mercy and not act rashly. Then, with a loud grunt, they continued to bury their head in their arms and resumed their sweet dreams. As for what was happening outside, whether the commotion was caused by their Bro Hope or not, they did not give a damn about it at all.

By the time the young King received the information from her men, her taut face immediately relaxed in relief. Everything could still be easily managed as long as the Divine Warriors did not join in the commotion. After a moment of silence, she finally asked, “How about that assassin? So many people going against one man who’s carrying a woman, they should have gotten their hands on him by now, right?”

A barbarian who was wearing multiple animal hides took half a step forward and said with a slight anxious look, “Erm... Your highness, please wait for a while more. The cavalry has already joined in to block his way. I’m certain that he will be caught very soon.”

With a disappointed look, the King looked at the chief bodyguard by her side and shook her head in exasperation. This good-for-nothing man should not have been sitting in that position in the first place. Still, there was nothing that she could do as he was her blood-related uncle. Letting out a sigh, she accepted the fact and stood up suddenly, “I’ll go!”

Those few people who looked like veteran generals immediately stepped forward to stop her, “Your Highness! You can’t go!”

“What can I do if I don’t go? Wait right here for you guys to detain him?” The King responded by asking, “Letting him enter our territory as he likes and then kill anybody to his heart’s content? Make a fool out of myself in front of the other Khans?”

“T-This...” A reluctant look appeared on the veterans’ faces. After hesitating for a moment, one of the veterans, whose balls were bigger, suggested, “Erm... How about we ask the other clans to help detain him?”

“If I need the assistance of other clans just to retain one feeble assassin, how do you expect me to lift my head in front of these people in the future?” Shaking her head, the girl revealed a smirk and said, “Uncles, don’t you worry about me. Nobody had once defeated me, the girl who’s sheltered by the God of War, in this grassland before!”

Having said that, ignoring the protests and objections, she stubbornly walked out from the tent and pulled out a sword hilt without any blade from her waist. In a low voice that only she could hear, she whispered, “Answer me, the Sword of the God of War. Grant me the power to crush the enemy!”

What followed next was a red ray of light that suddenly emerged out of the sword hilt. The ray of light was so bright and solid, it gradually took the shape of a sword blade as it formed on the hilt. That was how it looked when the War God’s Sword was activated, with no actual blade and yet, invincible. The red ray of light that symbolized destruction could cut through anything andeverything in the world.

The girl waved the sword freely in front of her, the air that was cut through by the red blade quivered slightly with a buzzing sound. Looking at the direction that was constantly spitting flames and filled with shouts, a strong pressure emitted out of her feet at once. Like a jetpack had been strapped to her feet, she rose up to the sky all of a sudden. The wind that was billowing from her feet blew at the nearby tipis harshly to near collapse and in a high speed, she flew towards the direction of the intruder.

Hastily covering their faces with their hands and resisting the strong wind pressure, the veterans who were left behind lifted their heads up with all their might to look at the direction that their King had just headed to and sighed, ” Sigh , we are really useless. We can’t even solve such small matter on our own and have to rely on her to settle it personally. Aren’t we just making a fool out of ourselves like this?”

“Although she’s recognized by the God of War as the strongest person in the grassland but somehow... I have a bad feelings about this... I-I guess, I better stop thinking too much about it. It’s impossible for her to lose!”

“I’m worried as well. That opponent is just too powerful! Not only was he able to sneak into the King’s tent without anybody noticing it, his sword skill is great and he can even use magic like the Southerners! His power is really incredible! Don’t tell me the Southerners have become so strong in such a short time?”

“Impossible! The King is sheltered by the God! She will never lose! EVER! You guys are just thinking too much!”

At that moment, Baiyi had just managed to snatch himself a horse and had already galloped out of the King’s compound, making his way towards the North. He randomly entered one of the clans’ campground and there was already a squad of cavalry blocking his way right in front of him. A series of chaotic horse galloping sound was catching up to him from behind along with the sound of arrows being shot.

“Kyaaaaa! Be car... Ahhhhhh! ” Undine who could see the situation at the back immediately shouted to notify Baiyi about the arrows. Instead, before she could finish her words, she could feel her body being violently tossed to the side on the horse and a few arrows flew pass her. It was so close that they were basically touching her hair. She could almost see the quivers of the feathers on the arrow ends.

Not only did the alarmingly dangerous scene failed to make Undine scared, the hot-blooded trait of the Butterfly Saint of Swords was aroused by the whole situation all of a sudden, eliciting a few laughs from her, “Hahaha! You’re indeed powerful! You stinky bastard!”

Right now, a feeling suddenly formed in Undine’s mind. Somehow she felt that she would not have to be afraid of anything as long as the man was behind her back. She had a strong faith that he would be able to protect her no matter what the circumstances were. Although she had no pretext on her faith towards him, but somehow, something in her heart told her that it was true.

Of course, Baiyi did not know that the idiotic girl was actually harbouring such feelings and thoughts towards him in the face of such a dangerous situation. The moment he had managed to escape the wave of arrows attack that sneaked up on him from behind, the cavalry squad in front was already getting close to them. Instead of hastily trying to turn back, he stopped right in the middle and randomly threw a Pyroblast spell towards the back. Instantly, like a bomb, it exploded and sparks of fire flew in all directions, blowing both barbarians and horses away. With his hands on the swords, he bent himself low as he charged forward and waved the swords in front of him, slashing the men that were galloping towards him cleanly into halves.

Then, pulling himself straight up again, he held both swords by his side and waved them around as he galloped towards another two cavalry in front of him. Seeing Baiyi charging his way towards them, the two cavalries halted their horses and sat quietly on them as they lifted their swords up, ready to slash at Baiyi when he came near. Everything happened in just a blink of an eye, the moment Baiyi galloped past in between them, gushes of fresh blood spurted out from their armors followed by two dull ‘thud’ as the two of them fell helplessly on the ground.

“Chi blades?” Undine who was a Legendary Level knight could immediately recognize the wounds that were caused by Chi blades. Instead of feeling surprised or stunned, she appeared to be particularly pleased when she said, “Sneaking in, magic, and now chi blades? Stinky bastard, are you really just a Dragon Knight? Why are you so strong?”

Oh, gosh this woman is so annoying! Mia is even more sensible than you y’know ! Baiyi did not have the time to reply Undine but he still had some time to snap at her in his mind. Looks like I really have to keep my distance from her after I’ve rescued her.

Of course Baiyi, who had been a bachelor for thousands of years, would not understand the heart of a little girl at all. He would never be able to guess how it felt watching a man fighting dauntlessly for her in a life-or-death situation.

Then again, there was no need for Baiyi to understand either. He only knew that the current situation they were both in right now did not look very promising at the moment. Putting the matter of the useless ants by the side, what’s more crucial was that there was a peculiar sense of aura that had been locking its sight on him since he started to make his escape. It must be the War God’s Sword that had its eyes locked on him. It would be easy for him to take flight had he been alone but now with Undine beside him, taking into account her safety, it would pose quite a bit of difficulty to him.

That was why that along the way, he had deliberately dashed toward the campgrounds of the other clans, trying to shake himself off from the sword. Still, having broke into the few lines of defense of a few campgrounds, he was still unable to get rid of the War God’s Sword. Still, the sword and its master did not show themselves at all throughout his escape. Instead, they were just hanging from far behind and watched him made his way out of the northernmost campground into the boundless great wasteland.

Looks like you guys are waiting for me to enter the open space before coming to me heads-on huh? What a smart move to prevent your own people from getting hurt, Baiyi could easily guess the intention behind the King’s moves, at the same time, he could not help but chuckle at the thought of it. I wonder where did this girl get her courage and confidence to face the Fifth Walker of the Void all alone in the big wilderness? That God of War of hers?

Such action was like offering the sword to Baiyi willingly. The instance he saw how smoothly the whole plan went, his heart was filled with delight. With a kick, he urged the horse to go a little faster. Instead of rushing forward to stop him, the squad of cavalry blocking his path in front him suddenly opened a path and allowed him to charge his way into the complete darkness in the wilderness and he soon disappeared from their sights.

“We really don’t have to chase after him? We let him off just like that?” One of the cavalries of the last line of defense asked the messenger dressed in royal clothes next to him.

“Don’t worry,” The messenger patted his shoulder before he continued to reassure him, “Since our King has decided to make the move personally, he certainly could not get away. The King did not want to have anymore unnecessary sacrifices hence she gave the order to not block his way.”

“Just the King alone?” Surprised, the cavalry asked, “Isn’t this too dangerous for her?”

“How is that so? Don’t judge her power just because she looks like a soft and weak Southerner. The War God’s Sword in her hand has a force so powerful that you and I both would not be able to understand. Have you forgotten that nobody else here can defeat her? All we have to do right now is to wait for her patiently to come back,” The messenger continued to praise his King proudly in front of the other cavalries.
