Vol. 10 - Chapter 511 - End of Training, Let’s Aim for the Top!
As I felt a sense of accomplishment at how nicely our classmates were now acting as one body, Sierra, standing by my side, chimed in, her gaze directed at the quartet. They’re breathing hard from the practice.
It was saturday. The classes were off, but with the class battle on the horizon a rest was our last priority, so we had scheduled another practice session at our appointed place for the day. The practice was fun, and I didn’t even notice we’re approaching evening.
Overall, I had made sure our classmates held up to a certain level of coordination, using every bit of time to make up for the sudden event. Had it been happening next month like it was supposed to, then that would have been immaculate.
But oh well, beggars couldn’t be choosers huh. Either way, they should be able to handle popular strategies. After all, it’s something I had taught. If I’m on it, then we’d definitely win.
“Uh-huh, I would have taught even more interesting strategies had it not been for the time limit.”
“Oh come now, that’s more than enough. It’s not hyperbole, I have hardly seen anyone who can train someone to this extent in that much time. Besides, the best part should be kept within our guild.”
“Huh, ah… I guess so. …Yeah, we will be better that way.”
Nodding to Sierra’s words, I beat down the unrelenting spirit of mine.
I guess I still hadn’t come out of my gamer mindset completely. In the game, I had believed that if I was guiding newbies or most players, then that would continue until they’d their path settled up to the level cap at least.
Now that I recall back how much effort I was putting in my professor job for elective classes, I might have more of a knack for the teaching than I had presumed so. Had it not been for Sierra to stop me, I would definitely have had class practise again tomorrow.
“Well, I guess this is a good stop then. Let’s use sunday to focus on our guild, eh?””
“You’re finally at it. You know we still haven't had enough practice with those skills ever since getting a hang of them, since you want to keep that a secret until the time comes. I definitely think sunday should be for our guild.
The ‘those skills’ were of course advanced skills and magic that they had unlocked from 4th order skill tree. After informing them that we’re going to debut with them the upcoming week, we haven’t used it even once in the class training. And so, Sierra was not equipped with her small shields either, the same goes for Lana’s throne.
Lana had not much to do, since the advancement for her had come in the shape of pure firepower, that required not that much of training. She was simply bidding for time until the grand reveal. However, Sierra and Ester’s power up had appeared in the shape of their new equipment, and they absolutely required any bit of time to get used to them. But otherwise, they still had the respective strength to fold any opponent. So at least, we’re safe here.
I curtly apologised to Sierra, and then clapped twice to get everyone’s attention.
“You’ve been progressing great, everyone! I can see everyone’s effort in your movement. I have no doubt we can run for the top. I guarantee this. And looking at the time, it’s time to call it a day. Now use tomorrow to get plenty of rest, and prepare for the class battle next week. Does anyone have any questions?”
I raised my voice, and announced the end of today’s training session there. Then, the quartet followed up with raising their hands.
“Are you sure, Zephyr?”
“Fufu. We have solely focused on improving our attack coordination, but I do worry about the defence.”
“What if we’re suddenly raided by a large team, I fear for the defence line.”
“Hmm, maybe oneself should have dabbled in defence practice sufficiently.”
«Best of the Best, the Great Star»'s concern had been about our defence side. Since we only had that much time, and also that too much of teaching would go above their head, I had class divided into the attack side, and defence side.
Every moment was a race against time. I nodded, since I could see their concern, but it was unfounded.
“Rest assured, though something tell me you’ll not, but still, just leave everything to the defence team. In case we’re raided with numbers, then the raid team task will be to hunt down the surprise unit. Just follow the command of adjutant Celestine at that time.”
Once my explanation was done, Celestine, who had been by my side—no, don’t ask me since when he was there—curtly bowed.
The raid team in my mind wasn’t only for assaulting the enemy's base, one of their duties involved taking out the force attacking our base. I had already informed the know-how to Celestine, since I might not always be with them.
“Well, there you have it. So… good luck in your task, «Best of the Best, the Great Star».”
“!! Yes, leave everything to us!”
“Fufu, never had I expected I would be hearing that much from you. I am motivated enough to take down dozens now.”
“We’re definitely going to make it big! So big that the defence team will probably never get their turn to shine!”
“There, don’t forget to have this venerable for god’s sake. I will show why I am the best at both offence and defence.”
With my cheers, the morale of «Best of the Best, the Great Star» shot up.
“They sure have changed much huh.”
“Well, since we’re all so ready with the winning chance in our hand, No.1 is obviously our target.”
I reacted to Sierra’s impression. Compliments sure can one mood.
Besides, they’ve been personally trained by me more or less. So they were strong enough in that regard. I believe they just need a good leader to bring out the best of their potential.
After the quartet, I answered the doubts of many other classmates, occasionally raising their morale, and with the promise to earn the top result, we wrapped up for the day.
“Let’s aim for the top!”
“ “ “ “To the top!!!“ “ “ “
“Good spirit, and that’s all for today. See you all in monday!”
After raising the morale of class, I turn to our guild members, informing them we’re going to clear a Int-high dun tomorrow while taking it as a practice!
